Register | Pointe Evaluation Class | Dancers who are 12 years and older are invited to participate in this class if they are interested in beginning pointe work. Jen and Angela will teach the class and then send feedback to each student, outlining what the student needs to work on in order to safely begin pointe work. *Dancers are only approved for pointe work after at least one year of Ballet IV but dancers who have completed Ballet III are also encouraged to take this class because the feedback is vital in accomplishing the start of safe pointe work. Please remember, the timing in which each student begins pointe work is very individual, and based on many factors. We give careful attention to this decision to help dancers avoid injury. Taking the Pointe Evaluation Class is by no means an automatic start to pointe work. | Thu | 6:00pm-7:00pm | All | 21 | 08/07/2025 | 08/07/2025 | LDC 2025 Summer Programs | 30.00 | |
Register | Common Space | ommon Space is LDC’s newest performing ensemble! Each of us is an infinitely worthy being, with powerful souls and minds housed in beautiful bodies, sharing this Common Space. In our work with Common Space, we will each strive to honor one another, ourselves, and our Mother Earth through our words, actions, and dancing. During Common Space week, dancers explore dance as a way to delve into social justice issues. Dancers will discuss topics they feel pertinent in today’s world and choose a topic to research. Dancers will then make a dance piece about the topic, and find ways to help their community based on their research. The dance piece will be presented at LDC’s Spring Performance in late May/early June 2026. Meetings and rehearsals will continue throughout the school year. The ensemble will be under the guidance of Nikki but the work will be student generated. Common Space will help plan our Back to Dance Event in late summer/early fall. | Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri | 12:30pm-2:30pm | All | 11 - 18 | 23 | 06/09/2025 | 06/13/2025 | LDC 2025 Summer Programs | 171.00 |
Register | Middle and High School Modern and Dance Composition Camp | Explore the rich world of modern and contemporary dance and dance composition. We are thrilled to welcome back Natalie Stehly to lead this camp. Natalie is an LDC alum and holds a BFA in Dance from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Her choreography and teaching practices are interwoven with her love for improvisation and somatic practices. Her choreographic works have been performed throughout the Midwest and New York City. Most recently, Natalie was selected to be part of the Emerging Artist fellowship through Wisconsin Dance Council. This camp will provide an opportunity to explore dance through multiple lenses, from technical skill development to creative expression. Expect to engage in improvisational exercises, somatic movement practices, and dance composition explorations that allow students to discover dynamic movement, understand connectivity in their body, and explore self-expression. | Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri | 12:30pm-2:30pm | All | 11 - 18 | 21 | 07/07/2025 | 07/11/2025 | LDC 2025 Summer Programs | 171.00 |
Register | Yoga for Dancers and Pilates | This class will rotate teachers bi-weekly, Jen will teach Yoga and Angela will teach Pilates. Pilates is a movement system which focuses on alignment, balanced muscle action and core strength. It is a wonderful system which integrates body and mind to improve physical strength and mental awareness. It was developed both as a cross-training system for dancers, as well as a therapeutic tool for people with injuries. It is an excellent way to improve your balance, body awareness and posture. In Yoga, we will focus on Asana (poses) to help with alignment and will also incorporate other parts of the 8-limbs of yoga including Pranayama (breath), meditation among others. We will also focus on body weight exercises and calisthenics infused with full-body stretches to give you the ultimate muscle building and stretching combination. | Tue | 6:00pm-6:45pm | All | 11 - 18 | 16 | 06/08/2025 | 08/16/2025 | LDC 2025 Summer Programs | 119.00 |
